Simply There

This time, upon readmission, my state was calm.

Perhaps it was the way I had spent the days after my temporary discharge.

Even on the day of admission, there was more quiet than anxiety.

The next day, I met with my doctor.

“Based on yesterday’s CT scan, there is a high possibility that the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in the right groin. This would be stage four.

Tomorrow, after anesthesia, we will remove part of the lymph node for examination. If it is cancer, the surgery will be canceled. We will move to chemotherapy. The operation will be postponed for several months.”

I was simply there.

There was nothing I could do.
