Serendipity

Algorithms are designed to optimize toward a certain goal.

The more refined the efficiency,
the less room remains for chance.

There are encounters that arise only within inefficiency.

When efficiency is pursued to its limit,
the space for serendipity narrows.

And yet, what is meant to occur still occurs.

Perhaps that is serendipity in a new form.

The ability to feel something like love
within digital text
may be one of the sensibilities
modern life has acquired.
