There is no gap

Just because someone is holding an umbrella does not mean it is raining. It might simply be a parasol.

Just because the stars appear to be moving does not mean the stars themselves are in motion. It might be the ground beneath us that is moving instead.

Just because I sigh while looking at my bank balance does not mean there is a lack. It might simply mean I have not noticed the abundance that is already there.

Reality is far softer than what exists inside our heads.

And yet just when I am absorbed in thoughts that feel vaguely meaningful a large man sits down next to me on the train. His oversized bag pushes into me uncomfortably and in an instant I am pulled back into reality.

Still there is no need to change reality. There is no obligation to force an unpleasant moment into a positive interpretation to ask Perhaps this too has some meaning. That kind of conversion feels unnatural.

Perhaps what we call natural is simply this. To see things as they are. To feel the abundance that already exists within that. To receive it. And to remain without a gap between what is happening and what we think about what is happening.

And then the large man promptly gets off at the next station.
