On Assumptions

To gain something,
must something first be given?

Perhaps that premise itself is an illusion.

In society, the exchange model appears obvious.
It dominates the visible structure.

Yet at a more fundamental level,
the sun asks nothing in return.
Oxygen demands no payment.

This is not a spiritual claim.
It is simply a fact.

Applying that principle directly to social systems may seem naïve.

Still, it may be worth asking:
is the assumption truly absolute?

There is little risk in questioning it.
